Sol Festive Jumper Lucky Kitten

£15.00

Sol: York Christmas Market Chalet Exclusive!

Sol Invictus was the official sun god of the late Roman empire, promoted by the Emperor Aurelian. In AD 274, the emperor Aurelian instituted the festival Dies Natalis Solis Invicti ('birthday of the Invincible Sun') on 25 December, the date of the winter solstice in the Roman calendar.

Sol Invictus enjoyed prominence until Constantine 1st legalised Christianity and restricted paganism.

Sol, in kitten form, is only available from our York Christmas Market Chalet. Five kittens (10 on Saturdays) will be available for sale each day from 28th November to 22nd December), making a limited edition of 150 numbered pieces (No. 1 will be retained for our limited edition archive).

Initially, Sol will be available from 10am when our chalet opens, but we reserve the right to randomise the release time each day.

Supplied in an "Original York Lucky Cat" branded velveteen drawstring pouch and descriptive card insert.
